THE 12th BLOG POST

So the semester is over now, and the Final Assignment is done. I’ve had a nice long run on the online participation, the vimeo page contains the video for this assignment as well as the Pool page which was my favourite one to update, even if I ran across a couple problems understanding how the sites work. I am still new to this online blogging and participating thing, I usually only stick to facebook and have a non-continuously updated twiterr haha.

I think my favourite blog post this semester was the one in which I tried to explore the creative commons license and how does it work. Or another one in which I gave it a go on Final cut pro, which was a complete success.

It was fun to work on this project, and I learnt to explore new techniques of web exploring and contexting, if thats a word. My weakness of the course might have been my lack of interest for this kind of things, I found it fairly strange to have this type of courses in a music industry program, never the less, I liked it. 🙂

Research On Video Editing in Final Cut

Final Cut Pro is an apple software that allouds editing diferent video & audio clips in a timeline & multitrack form, the same way you would use a program like Pro Tools, you apply almost the same knowledge into Final Cut. For the project I will only be manipulating images to create a slide show of the World’s End Lighouse (read the story). And add the new and improved 1 minute soundscape surrounding it. To help me (and you) with ideas or any trouble with Final Cut Pro, I took a look into this cool tutorials. And well. Best of luck for me and you. and lets get to work.

So The Other Day

I was wondering about what effects, images, and stuff to do for my final project video. so why not take a look at this great tutorials, and learn a thing or two about video editing. I think I’m gonna go with the 3D image effect. its a little tricky to do, but if performed well, only excellence can be rewarded. 🙂

Fresh Cut Collective

I came across a new site for creative uplaods, mixes, cuts, etc… The name is Fresh Cut Collective, and I gotta say it looks really interesting, I believe its similar to ABC pool, but leaned towards the musical interest. There is a lot to explore and I think many people will like it, specially if you like to experiment with the Creative Commons license.

Interesting Thoughts on Social Media (Facebook)

I came across a short but very interesting thought about Facebook becoming a new kind of resume for employments. Not only that but what can a simple picture or status update cause in your future, what consequences sharing your real name will offer. Very interesting indeed. clickity click

Composition In “Final Cut Pro”

Final Cut Pro, is a software developed for Video production and editing, XL Do Art, using a creative commons video upload from ABC POOL, will design an inspirational 5 minute music video. The original video called “Pilgrimage”, uploaded by Croosie88, and Directed by Tadashi Nakamura, talks about the environment which asian people had to live in the United States of America during World War II, specifically in a camp called Manzanar.

The orignal video is made in a documentary style, along with interviews, videos, pictures, dialoge, sound and music. The feature video re-mixed, re-directed and re-organized by XL Do Art will only contain videos and pictures along with the music (and with the permission) of Mexican emerging hip hop artist “Big Ax-D”.

The public release of this video will be around the first weeks of October and only with the permission of the music author and the correct use of the creative commons of its original.

ABC POOL REVIEW

01. Its still not popular, its in its growing & developing stages, its being re-designed for a new launch

02. Its a forum for everything (all types of media) without any specific specialization. its run by the government so its not opened to being influenced by other companies.

03. Its not so user friendly, its hard to sign on, its also difficult to get around, its general purpose its not very clear, the navigation system is ok, the home page does not show anything relevant to engage new users.

04. Its still running a Beta version of it, however, it encourages users to manipulate other’s work in any shape or form without being concerned about copyright issues. Its a good educational resource for schools & universities.

05. Avennues of Profit.- its free, no ads… government free service. designed solely for the benefit of the user.

06. There are no integrations with other networks, however, it is internally networked. inner social groups etc…

07. Tools av. for collab.- you can upload, share, comment, remix, evaluate, etc… yours and other people’s media.
